Our response to The Francis Report

In January 2014 we published an action plan in response to The Francis Report and related national reviews.

Our first step had been to go to our service users, carers and staff and ask them what Francis meant to them. As well as informing our the action plan this helped to produce a clear statement of the values and behaviours which we strive to bring to our work in all parts of the Trust.

The action plan document outlines the Trust's approach to quality and safety in the past. It then goes on to state clearly our main actions for the future.

In the body of the report we:
- Describe the background more fully, saying in more detail what these reports and reviews mean for us
- Outline the process we have followed in organising our response to Francis
- Present the key actions we are taking, including high level actions and practical examples
- State our conclusions
