Emily Burke

I have been a Public Governor for HPFT since 2018 and it has been an incredible opportunity. I believe young people’s voices need to be heard. I am part of the HPFT CAMHS Young People’s Council, so I am able to enable a feedback cycle between the Council and the Governors, ensuring that young people have a voice.

I am a mental health advocate and student mental health nurse with lived experience of HPFT CAMHS and adult services, in both community and inpatient settings. This has made me particularly passionate about being a part of improving our services for those who need them. I feel that the Trust’s values of being welcoming, kind, positive, respectful and professional are extremely important, and I strive to live out these values in everything that I do.
