I have been working within older peoples’ services for most of the last 20 years managing the MHSOP North for the past three years which has gone through a lot of transformation. I have played a key role in working through the difficulties that came with the changes in the service.
I have led the north SMHTOP to excel, being nominated ‘Best Team in Support of Dementia 2012’, Bronze Team award in 2013, Customer Service Award (for a group of staff that I supervise) 2013, Commendation for Leading our Values and being Positive in Practice 2014. I am responsible for reorganising and streamlining the work intake system so that the team is agile and able to respond to the fluctuating demands of the service. We called this the ‘Bottoms Up’ allocation and received the Gold Team Award for 2014 in the most recent Trust Awards. I have presented this innovative way of working in the Sharing Good Practice Conference 2014. I have also been awarded an Inspire Award in September 2018.
I can confidently assert that I have my values aligned with the values of the Trust of being Welcoming, Kind, Positive, Respectful and Professional. I embody these values in my interaction and intervention with colleagues, service users and carers as well as students and other members of the public. This is on top of my ability to ensure that the north Quadrant is well led in providing a safe, responsive and effective service in a caring way.
