If diarrhoea is persistent…
- Ask GP to do a stool sample to check for infections
- Blood test
- GP to rule out Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and coeliac disease (blood test and biopsy to confirm)
- Possible referral to gastroenterology for investigation
- GP may need to prescribe Loperamide (common brand name Immodium)
