It is important that you take care of your own health, even if you are busy looking after someone else's health. Being healthy is not only important for you, but it also helps the person you care for too. Below are some courses that you may find helpful to maintain your own wellbeing and support you to continue to care.

This free course, Physical activity for health and wellbeing in the caring role, is designed to give an insight into the demands, both physically and mentally, of the caring role and look at how taking part in physical activity can offer benefits to the health and wellbeing of carers.

 New Leaf recovery and wellbeing college

 New Leaf Recovery and Wellbeing College is committed to supporting personal recovery, increasing knowledge and skills, and promoting self-management. They have generic courses to support wellbeing and carer specific courses.

Carers: change, acceptance, and your wellbeing

   * Learning objectives:
   * To explore the impact of caregiving on the caregiver/carer
   * To discuss the personal impacts of this role
   * To understand the various changes which can take place
   * To explore feelings of loss and anticipatory grief
   * To consider carer burnout
   * To share carer recovery stories
   * To consider our own stress response
   * To explore practical ways of building a carer’s wellbeing
       toolkit

 This course takes place over six hours in two sessions.
