Developing the Art Panel
Since being established in 2015, HPFT’s art panel has selected over 700 pieces of art and poetry for display in our buildings, on our website and in public gallery exhibitions. These works have been created by people with a lived experience of mental health or learning disability services. The art panel’s regular meetings involved: service users, young people, carers, HPFT staff, and university of Hertfordshire.
In February 2019 the Trust began exploring new opportunities for the art panel to continue to be involved and meet each other to discuss art in building environments and the part it plays in recovery.
The art panel has interviewed artists about how having their art selected by the panel and displayed by the Trust has helped in their recovery journey. These interviews have been written up by the panel as a series of enlightening conversations with the artists and each other.
