Young People's Council

The Young People's Council is a group of young people who have experience of using Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and HPFT services. The council aims to:

  • stamp out stigma
  • raise awareness
  • make sure that young people that are experiencing mental health struggles know that they are not alone
  • make a difference

Why join

Some choose to get involved because they have had a very positive experience, some have had a negative experience but they have a common goal to ensure that young people’s voices are heard and to have young people and their families at the heart of service changes.

It is very important to the Trust to have the participation of Young People in the development of and changes to services that will affect them and other young people.

Expenses

Members of the council receive a £10 voucher as a thank you for giving up their time. We will also cover all travel costs to events and we can arrange transport to events if required at no cost.
