New Leaf College
New Leaf Wellbeing College
New Leaf Wellbeing College provides short educational courses about mental health and long term physical health. The courses help to increase your knowledge and skills and promote your self-management. You are an expert in your own wellbeing and recovery and the courses may help you take control despite health challenges.
The college welcomes students with a lived experience of both mental and/or long term physical health issues, as well as their relatives, carers and staff. Its aim is to promote wellbeing through education, which enable students to reach their goals, gain confidence and enjoy greater independence.
The college believes in promoting:
- Hope: inspiring hope for the future despite life’s challenges.
- Opportunity: hearing experiences of others to help you learn and be inspired.
- Control: providing you with the knowledge and skills to make the changes that are right for you.
The courses are co-produced meaning that people with lived experience of the subject matter and people who have professional experience work together to write the course material.
The courses are free of charge and run at ten venues across the county: Bishop’s Stortford, Borehamwood, Hemel Hempstead, Letchworth, St Albans, Stevenage, Waltham Cross, Watford, Ware and Welwyn Garden City.
The college is open to anyone aged over 18 living in Hertfordshire. New students are asked to enrol in the college before booking onto courses. To learn more about the college, discover which courses are running near you, enrol and book onto courses:
