About Suicide Prevention Training
What are the signs of suicide risk, and how do we spot them? Our training courses will:
- Increase awareness and knowledge
- Make you feel more confident in spotting the signs of someone feeling suicidal
- Introduce practical steps about what actions you may take if you notice someone is distressed
There are full-day, half-day and one hour introduction sessions available.

Full Day Training
Fully funded one-day training course for voluntary and public sector employees/volunteers working with adults in Hertfordshire and includes sports clubs, community groups and healthcare providers. They are incredibly popular with a 98% excellence rating for 2018.

Spot the Signs suicide prevention training is offered directly to GPs across Hertfordshire. If you or your surgery would like training, please contact hpft.spotthesigns@nhs.net
In House Training
Spot the Signs and Save a Life can provide fully funded training in house subject to demand. We will explore information about which groups of people are most at risk and why, protective factors and briefly review practical strategies for identifying and responding to signs of risk in adults within your organisation. Organisations are provided with a resource pack to help embed the training including posters and leaflets.

1 Hour Introduction Sessions
If you would like to find out more but do not have time to attend a full training. Our coordinator can attend your workplace and deliver a 1 hour introduction session providing an overview of the campaign, suicide prevention in the wider context and some information about how to support someone who may be distressed.
