Inspiring fact finding visit for Czech study group
30 May 18 - 29 May 19
A group of mental health professionals from the Czech Republic went on a tour of some of HPFT’s services this month (21-23 May) on a fact-finding mission to gather ideas for improving mental health services in their country.
The group visited Child and Adolescent Services, Adult Inpatient and Community Services as well as our Perinatal and Forensic Services over a three day period.
One group member said: “The trip has been inspiring and has made me believe that things will be better in the future.”
Following a tour of the specialist dementia and assessment unit at Logandene, another member of the group said: “First impressions are very good as it’s homely with bright colours. The unit has great facilities and also appears to have enough staff so that those staying there have the freedom to move around safely.”
HPFT’s director of service delivery and customer experience Jess Lievesley said: “It was a pleasure to host this visit and share the history and progress of our mental health services. We also stressed the vital importance of good communications and working together with primary healthcare providers, health and social care services as well as service users and their families to ensure the best possible outcomes.”
