We are celebrating Carers Week
09 Jun 17 - 08 Jun 18
HPFT is marking Carers Week (12-18 June) with a range of events that celebrate the vital work of carers and promote their wellbeing.
On Friday, ahead of Carers Week, an event called Building Carer Friendly Partnerships was held at The Colonnades in Hatfield. It was an interactive day for people to come together and discuss ways to build carer-friendly partnerships. It included carer stories, practical exercises, a ‘marketplace’ with stalls from local organisations, an opportunity for one-to-one discussions with advisers and ‘taster’ massage sessions.
During Carers Week, our Wellbeing Team will be out and about at several events including one on Monday being attended by community and voluntary groups at OA Sports, Woollam Playing Fields, 160 Harpenden Road, St Albans, AL3 6BB, from 10am to 2pm. It will include a Dementia Friends session and our team will be talking to people who care for those with dementia.
The team will also be at a carers’ drop-in session at Hitchin Town Hall on Wednesday from 11.30am to 2pm. On the same day they will be giving tips to carers at a Hertsmere Healthy Living event at Allum Hall, Elstree, from 6 to 9pm.
On Friday, Health in Mind (North Essex IAPT), which is part of HPFT, will be attending a carers drop-in session at Kingsland Church, 86 London Road, Colchester, CO3 9DW, from 1-4pm.
