This is Learning Disability Week (19 to 25 June) and the focus this year is employment. HPFT is attending a number of events.
On Monday there will be an information stall in Stevenage town centre, raising awareness of learning disabilities.
There will also be a carers’ information event, hosted by Carers in Herts, on Tuesday from 11am to 3pm where we will have an information stall. It is at the Stanborough Centre, St Albans Road, Watford, WD25 9JL.
A coffee morning is at The Standing Order, Stevenage Old Town, from 10am to noon on Wednesday. This will be followed by rounders at King George V Park, Stevenage, at 4pm.
On Friday an event will be held at Briars Pavillion, Hatfield, AL10 8EY, from 10am to 2pm. It will be opened by our Health Access Champion, Mark Sneddon, who will share his own work experiences. A football workshop will be run by two qualified instructors who also have autism. There will be representatives from Work Solutions and Money Advice Unit. Local organisations will also be able to join us.
