HPFT showcases University Project Team at National NHS Conference

21 Oct 19 - 28 Oct 19

HPFT’s Community team behind the Student Early Assessment and mental health Learning Service (SEAL) was chosen by NHS Providers to showcase their work at their annual exhibition in Manchester earlier this month (October).

SEAL is a specialist mental health advice, information and care service for further/higher education students in south-east Hertfordshire experiencing mental health problems. The service provides a dedicated Mental Health Nurse, who triages referrals in primary care to provide advice and information.  Assessments are fast, providing early access to relevant services when required.

Isabel Worsley, Community Service Line Lead - East/South East Herts, represented HPFT at the event, together with Service Manager Jackie Stonebrook, Community Mental Health Nurse Monika Lee and Dr Sadgun Bhandari. Isabel said: “It was fantastic to be chosen to exhibit our work at this national exhibition, which selected projects embracing new opportunities from all around the country – the theme of the exhibition was “ambition to reality.”

“We received lots of interest and I’m hoping that other Trusts will recognise the numerous benefits of having a dedicated mental health nurse, building relationships with education establishments and their students.”
