HPFT Social Workers in the national finals for Social Worker Awards

17 Oct 19 - 17 Oct 20

Two Social Workers from Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) are in the national finals for Mental Health Social Worker of the Year. These awards were established in 2006 to recognise and celebrate the achievements of social workers, promote social work and incentivise individuals and teams in the social work profession to achieve excellence.

Kate Linhart, HPFT’s Head of Social Work and Safeguarding said: “I am delighted and incredibly proud that two of our Social Workers have been shortlisted for the National Social Worker of the Year Awards 2019.  Social Work in mental health often goes under the radar, with the focus being on children and older adults, however this is an opportunity where we can promote what a valuable contribution social work can make to the experience and outcomes of somebody impacted by mental ill health.

“Both of our finalists continue to make an excellent contribution to the strong identity that social work has in HPFT.  They act as excellent role models for our social workers, through consistently promoting core social work values, upholding practice standards and demonstrating a positive approach to new challenges. They are both thoroughly deserving of this recognition for their contribution to our service users, carers and staff and the social work profession.”

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in London in November.
