HPFT's new Quality Strategy launches

19 Sep 19 - 19 Sep 21

This week we launched our new Quality Strategy with a plan to deliver great care and achieve great outcomes, together.

The strategy sets out an approach which aims to put quality at the heart of everything we do, supporting our Good to Great Strategy. There are nine objectives that we will meet over the next five years and they sit under three key areas:

  • Safety
  • Effectiveness
  • Experience

Dr Jane Padmore, Executive Director Quality and Safety and Chief Nurse said: “The Quality Strategy is not about asking services users what the matter is with them, it is about asking instead what matters to them. Feeling safe when at your most vulnerable has to be a key component of our high quality services. This can only be developed and sustained by safety being everyone’s business, a culture of safety.

“We’ve taken great strides over the last 18 months but this is only the beginning. We continue to make mistakes and do not always deliver the care we aspire to and so being honest and open, learning from these incidents is a high priority. Our journey continues and we will continue to do everything we can to ensure our services become even safer, by always listening to our staff, service users and their carers and families and taking positive action when changes need to be made.”
