Tom Cahill appointed as National Learning Disability and Autism Director

NHS England has appointed Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) Chief Executive Tom Cahill as National Learning Disability and Autism Director. Speaking about his appointment, Tom said: “I am delighted to be taking up this role. I am looking forward to working with colleagues across health and social care to improve the experiences of people with a learning disability to ensure they receive the care they deserve. I am keen to work closely with families and those who have lived experience of using these services.”

Tom will take up the National Director post on a part-time basis in October 2021. As planned, he will step down as Chief Executive of HPFT at the end of November 2021 when Karen Taylor will become Chief Executive.
