Recovery

Mental health issues can affect different people in very different ways.  For some of us, we may begin to feel better quickly and get back to our lives as they were before we became unwell.  For others it can feel like everything has changed which can sometimes make it difficult to see a way forward.

This information has been provided to help you choose the many options that are available if you have been unwell and would like some help to improve your wellbeing.

You may have heard people within mental health services talk about Mental Health Recovery, and wondered what it has to do with you?  When we talk about Recovery in a mental health context, we are talking about how you can realise your hopes and aspirations and develop your experiences, relationships and skills to live a positive life - with or without ongoing episodes of mental illness.  It's about doing things that you choose with support from a variety of different places.
