Adult inpatient services
We provide a high standard of treatment and care in a safe and therapeutic setting for people in the most acute and vulnerable stage of their illness. These services are specifically for those people who are so unwell that they cannot be treated and supported at home or elsewhere in a less restrictive setting. A stay in hospital may assist with a more in-depth assessment and medical treatment.
There are four sites for adult mental health. These are located in several different places across the Trusts area. All units have facilities such as lounge areas, activity rooms and gardens. During a stay on one of our wards you should have contact with a care co-ordinator from the community teams, as well as the staff on the ward.
The Trust's Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is called Oak Unit. It caters for those who are experiencing an intense period of mental distress and are very unwell. It is housed in new, purpose- built, premises on the Kingsley Green site, near Radlett.
