Assessments
Our aim is to start your assessment within 28 days after receiving your referral. Your initial appointment(s) will involve you talking with a member of the team in order to assess the nature and severity of your difficulties and ways in which we might be able to help you. Where necessary we will try to signpost you to other more appropriate services or resources.
We also offer carers' assessments to give carers an opportunity to discuss their own needs and to consider how best we can support them.
Support for Carers, Family and Friends
We believe that families and carers are central to recovery. Whether you are directly involved in your loved ones treatment or not, we can offer information and support around eating disorders that may be helpful.
In particular we can offer a carers assessment in which you can meet with a member of the team to discuss how best we can support you in your caring role. Please contact us if you would like to book a carers assessment. Please click here to read what some of our carer's have said about the carers assessment and the support that they have received from us.
We also run two support groups across the county for family members, partners or friends who are concerned about a loved one with an eating disorder. The groups are currently held in St Albans on the second Tuesday of every month at 6pm until 7:30pm and in Welwyn Garden City on the third Thursday of every month at 4pm until 5:30pm. Please contact us for further details.
We are also able to recommend a number of reading materials and other helpful websites that may be of useful.
