Forensic Services

Forensic mental health services provide treatment and support for people with mental disorders who have committed serious offences, or who are at risk of committing a serious offence, who require specialist mental health treatment, and who cannot be safely treated in a non-forensic setting. Forensic services include inpatient units with differing levels of security, and community-based services. HPFT’s forensic services work with other services to support a clear pathway of care for people needing treatment, to ensure that nobody spends a day longer in hospital than necessary. HPFT’s forensic services are proud to be active members of the Quality Network for Secure Mental Health Services.

HPFT has inpatient and community forensic services in Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Essex. HPFT’s forensic services accept referrals from specialised commissioners, and other mental health services. To discuss a referral, please contact:
