We provide an assessment and treatment services for adults with a learning disability at Astley Court, Little Plumstead, Norfolk, which works alongside the Integrated Adult Community Learning Disability Service, managed by Norfolk Community Health and Care and Norfolk County Council.

Astley Court has been designed to ensure service users’ privacy, dignity and comfort during treatment and provides 12 individual, en-suite rooms for them during their short stay of three to four months. The building has excellent access to outdoor areas. This includes separate gardens, an enclosed courtyard and a shared recreational garden space.

The service has dedicated resource rooms, separated from other areas, that enable personal and social development to support successful treatment and recovery. The communal space is open and airy with commissioned art installations that makes the area feel that it is not a traditional place of treatment. The innovative design features allow people who are very unwell to receive the care they need safely and therapeutically, whilst ensuring their dignity and respect are maintained.
