Pharmacy and medicines optimisation
Hertfordshire Partnership University Foundation NHS Trust (HPFT) Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation department supports the safe and effective use of medicines within the trust and local health economy. Our Trust dispensary is located at Kingfisher Court, Kingsley Green however staff are based across several sites.
The Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation supports clinicians and service users with up to date evidence based information regarding medicines and mental health. If you wish to talk to one of the specialist mental health pharmacists, then please ask a member of your community mental health team or ward staff to put you in touch.
Prescribing Guidelines
In order to support evidence based prescribing the Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation department have developed a suite of guidelines on the choice and selection of medicines for the management of common mental health conditions. The guidelines should be used in conjunction with other reference sources and NICE.
Medication Information
We will always ensure that, should medication be required, you receive the most suitable and effective type for your condition. We will always discuss the options with you and endeavour to make you aware of any side effects. However, we will always advise that you read the medication information leaflet first.
