My wife is a service user at HPFT, and as her carer, we have had first-hand experience of the HPFT services. As a governor, I represent the service user and carer voice which I believe is vital to the care and services the Trust provides if we want to reflect the community we serve.

Prior to becoming a carer for my wife, I had a successful career at Heathrow Airport in customer/passenger services where I served as a health and safety officer with the trade union. I ensured that the health and wellbeing of staff and passengers was a priority.

Earlier in my career I served as a local councillor in Shropshire with responsibilities for health and consumer care including services such as ‘Meals on Wheels’. I helped to ensure that services for the elderly and housebound were protected from cuts.
