Psychological Practitioners
Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP)s
PWP’s deliver guided self-help to adults with anxiety and depression, supporting people with a range of different low intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) methods over the telephone, on line or in person. These methods include written exercises, computerised packages and mobile phone apps. They combine psychological practice with the very latest in low intensity CBT innovation, helping people move forward using structured, brief interventions.
We employ and train PWP trainees as well as qualified PWPs and Senior PWPs. We support our PWPs throughout their training journey and, once qualified, support them to gain the necessary skills and experience to continue to grow with us.

After completing the training with HPFT, I was able to put the knowledge and skills I gained into practice. The team here is so supportive, vibrant, and diverse in so many ways. I’ve felt welcomed from day one, and the hospitality has been phenomenal. The exposure I’ve had clinically has been invaluable. My strengths in counselling and delivering psychologically informed therapy have really come to the forefront. I also appreciate the opportunity to work with individuals with such a variety of complex diagnoses it makes the role so rewarding. The MHWP role is incredibly beneficial to the mental health team.
