10 Nov 23

HPFT were delighted to be crowned winners in two categories at the annual RCPsych Awards.

The Norfolk Forensic Community Learning Disability Service was awarded Psychiatric Team of the year: Intellectual Disability and Carer, Gisele Jefferis, won Carer Contributor of the Year.

HPFT were also shortlisted in three other categories:

Specialty Doctor - Dr Ayomipo J Amiola

Patient Contributor of the Year – Hollis Dixon

Psychiatric Team of the Year: Working-age Adults – Enhanced Rehabilitation Outreach Service (EROS)

The Norfolk Forensic Community Learning Disability Service was praised by the judges for excelling in meeting the criteria for the award. ‘The panellists were particularly impressed by the innovative pathway built on a strong, evidence-based model that has placed outcome and service evaluations at the heart of the service. The team demonstrated a clear commitment towards partnership working with all stakeholders and placed service users, patients, families, and carers at the very centre to shape the service.’

Gisele’s award for Carer Contributor of the Year recognised her integral involvement in the development of our Enhanced Rehabilitation Outreach Service (EROS). The nomination also shone a spotlight on her role within HPFT’s carer council which has enabled the service to develop close relationships with carer groups in the Trust and share initiatives and learning with wider forums.

The Norfolk Forensic Community Learning Disability Service is a jointly funded service by the East of England Provider Collaborative and Norfolk and Waveney ICB.
