Two new Non-Executive Directors appointed at HPFT

Two new Non-Executive Directors are joining Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) this Autumn. Andrew van Doorn joins the Trust Board today, 5 September and Carolan Davidge will join later in the year.

Andrew van Doorn is the Chief Executive of the Housing Associations’ Charitable Trust (HACT), a UK-wide charity which partners with organisations across the housing sector to encourage innovation and foster collaboration. He is an expert on the integration of housing and health for people with mental health needs, learning disabilities and autism. He was previously also a Non-Executive Director at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust.

Carolan Davidge has a background in marketing, communications and policy influencing in the charity and medical research sectors and has held senior roles at the British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK and the Medical Research Council. In 2020, she was named one of the UK’s top 100 marketers. Carolan is currently a Non-Executive Director at East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) and will join the HPFT Board when her term of office with EEAST ends later in the year.

Commenting on the appointments, HPFT Chair Sarah Betteley said: “I am delighted to welcome Andrew and Carolan to our Board. They both bring a wealth of relevant experience from their executive roles as well has having served on the boards of other NHS trusts. Their knowledge and experience will help us further to strengthen relationships with our partners in health and care across the east of England region. I also want to thank Catherine Dugmore and Patrick Vernon, who both stood down from our Board earlier this year, for their contributions to the Trust.”
