Celebrating working together to help keep people safe

02 Dec 25

The West Norfolk Community Learning Disabilities Team has been recognised for working together to keep people safe. They’ve helped raise awareness about the fire risks linked to emollient creams and found ways to reduce those risks for adults with learning disabilities.

Eight formally dressed colleagues stand indoors in front of a "Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service" backdrop, holding certificates and awards. The setting features a stone wall and wooden floor, showing an official ceremony.

This important initiative, delivered through strong multi-agency working, recently earned the team the Partnership of the Year Award at the Norfolk Fire Awards.

Representing the team at the awards ceremony were Susie Abriam, Clinical Lead Nurse, and Abi Ward, Speech and Language Therapist, who proudly accepted the accolade on behalf of their colleagues.

The success doesn’t stop there - this work has also been shortlisted for two National Fire Awards. This recognition reflects the team’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and safeguarding the wellbeing of the people they support.
