Dr. Radhakrishnan’s award-winning essay, titled “Digital Inclusion – Empowering the Elderly in a Digital World,” explores the growing issue of digital exclusion among the elderly. Drawing inspiration from his encounter with an 87-year-old service user struggling to order prescriptions online, he looks at the challenges faced by older adults in navigating an increasingly digital world. It highlights the barriers they encounter in accessing essential services like healthcare, emphasising the urgent need for inclusive solutions that bridge the digital divide.

The essay’s relevance and originality impressed the judges and Dr. Radhakrishnan’s work is a reminder of the importance of supporting inclusive ways of working that prevent people from being isolated.
