HPFT innovation recognised for two HSJ Patient Safety Awards

HPFT colleagues are celebrating after being recognised in the HSJ Patient Safety Awards.

The “Fundamentals of Care Standards for Nurse-Led Clinics” has been recognised in two categories.

Nursing-led patient safety initiative of the year
Early-stage patient safety innovation of the year

The innovation supports 1400 service users living with psychosis, who attend HPFT community clinics for medication such as depot and clozapine.

By hearing service users’ feedback and gathering data on key issues, colleagues have successfully developed clear, evidence-based safety and quality standards for clinics.

Clinical data has been made available remotely and centrally, providing the ability to improve effectiveness and impact, and to provide targeted interventions to where they are needed most.

The project has enabled improvements to service user safety, experience and quality of care.
