Published study highlights better outcomes through specialist community support

Congratulations to our colleagues in the Norfolk Community Learning Disability Team whose research has been published in the Journal of Intellectual Disabilities.

The paper, The development and initial evaluation of a forensic community team for people with an intellectual disability, evaluates the first year of Norfolk's specialist forensic community service.

The study found that tailored community-based support helped avoid 15 hospital admissions, demonstrating how specialist care can effectively support people with complex needs while reducing reliance on inpatient services.

A great achievement for everyone involved and recognition of the team's commitment to improving outcomes for people with intellectual disabilities.
