Thank you to our Estates and Facilities Team!

19 Jun 24

Today is National Estates and Facilities Day and an opportunity to say a huge thank you to our Estates and Facilities team. They work tirelessly every day to keep our spaces safe for staff to work in and service users to receive care in.

The team are responsible for building repairs and maintenance such as plumbing, fire alarms and heating. They are also responsible for support services including catering, security and cleaning.

Our Estates and Facilities Department is a shared service between Hertfordshire Partnership University Foundation Trust (HPFT) and Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust (HCT).

31 members of staff and several specialist managers cover areas including Capital Planning and Management, Property Services, Business Management, Backlog Maintenance and Compliance.

We work with two main contractors: Mitie and Dalkia. We also work collaboratively with Herts County Council, NHS Property Services and OCS.

The geographical area of HPFT and HCT covers 98 sites which includes 27 inpatient areas, 52 clinics, 14 office bases, 2 head offices and 3 health and wellbeing centres.

The National Estates and Facilities Team were involved in the recent reopening of Elizabeth Court after an extensive refurbishment and move from neighbouring Victoria Court. Find out more here: Celebration to officially open Elizabeth Court (hpft.nhs.uk)
