Have a say in your mental health care

19 Aug 25

Have you used HPFT’s community mental health services this year? If so, you may be invited to take part in the 2025 Community Mental Health Survey.

This national survey takes place every year to ask about people’s experiences of using NHS community mental health services. Feedback is always really important so whether your contact with our services was regular or minimal we would encourage you to take part if you are contacted. The survey will be sent to a randomised group of individuals who used our services in April or May 2025 and are age 16 or over.

A man sits on a sofa looking at the camera. Logos for Picker and NHS appear in the top right corner. The text reads: "Community Mental Health Survey – What was your experience of care?" followed by "Your feedback will help improve mental health care for the community." At the bottom, three illustrated speech bubbles are shown next to a note about Section 251 NHS Act 2006 approval for processing contact details.

Last year’s results

Last year’s survey received 467 responses from HPFT service users, which helped us discover more about what is working well in our services and what we can improve on.
Thanks to these results, we have identified key areas to focus on over the next year:
•    Support with broader areas of life, including debt and finances
•    Supported decision-making
•    Medication
•    Communication
•    Waiting times

About the survey

The survey is confidential, carried out by the Care Quality Commission and a dedicated Survey Coordination Centre at IQVIA, on behalf of NHS England. Your responses are not shared with our staff, so participation will not affect your care or treatment. This survey has also received approval from the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care.

If invited to take part in the survey, you can complete it as a paper questionnaire, or online by using the login details provided.

If you need help completing it, please call IQVIA (our survey supplier) on 0800 783 1775 or email them at helpline-QH@IQVIA.com.

The results will be published in the spring of 2026. What we learn will enable us to identify key priorities, helping us to offer the best care for you.
