‘Give to Gain’ theme shines at HPFT’s International Women’s Day event

13 Mar 26

The Trust celebrated International Women’s Day in style with a fantastic event at its Head Office, focussed on the theme ‘Give to Gain’.

A group of people stand together indoors holding a large purple banner that reads International Women’s Day. Purple balloons and bunting are displayed around the room.

The day was opened by HPFT Chief Executive, Karen Taylor, and the ‘give to gain’ theme ran throughout the morning, with colleagues sharing honest reflections on their experiences at the Trust and beyond.

Emma Wadey, Chief Nurse and Deputy Chief Executive, and Hildah Jiah, Head of Nursing, Adult Community Services, shared their career journeys and reflected on the women who supported them along the way. They spoke about how mentorship, coaching and professional encouragement helped them and how they in turn are committed to supporting those who come after them. Other colleagues also shared their perspectives in a series of inspiring talks.

A TED Talk encouraged people to think about happiness and how to turn positive thoughts into positive action to support wellbeing.

The event closed with a wonderful bring and share lunch and a wellbeing walk, giving people time to connect and reflect on the day.
