Celebrating culture and connection for South Asian Heritage Month

26 Aug 25

At HPFT, we proudly champion belonging and inclusion for colleagues and service users of all cultural backgrounds.

To mark the end of South Asian Heritage Month, staff gathered for a vibrant henna demonstration hosted by our embRACE Staff Network.  The event featured stunning live artwork by colleague Syeda, who shared her talent by creating intricate henna designs for attendees throughout the afternoon.

Henna, a plant-based dye, has deep cultural significance in South Asia and beyond, and has long been used in celebrations, religious rituals, and rites of passage.

Alongside the demonstration, colleagues explored the origins and symbolism of henna, engaged in mindful doodling, and enjoyed the chance to connect in a relaxed, inclusive space. The event was a celebration not only of heritage, but of community and creativity within our Trust.
