Mental Health Liaison Team achieves national accreditation for excellence in psychiatric liaison care

17 Feb 26

Congratulations to the Mental Health Liaison Team (MHLT) at Watford General Hospital who have been formally recognised for excellence in psychiatric liaison care.

The accreditation was awarded by the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Centre for Quality Improvement (CCQI) under the Psychiatric Liaison Accreditation Network (PLAN).

It marks an improvement and assessment process that demonstrates the high quality of care provided to people experiencing a mental health crisis within the hospital.

PLAN accreditation is given to services that meet a comprehensive set of standards developed by the CCQI and reflect what “good” looks like in modern mental health care, covering areas such as safety, responsiveness, leadership, governance, commitment to learning and improvement and effective engagement with service users and carers.

Achieving accreditation assures service users, carers, staff and others that the team is safe, effective, well led and continually improving.

Well done to everyone involved!
