‘Care for you’ health and wellbeing day

11 Oct 24

At HPFT we place service users at the heart of everything we do. Our committed and dedicated staff work tirelessly on a daily basis to support and care for the service users who need our help.

We work throughout the year to make sure our staff also get support for themselves and this World Mental Health Day we held an online all staff wellbeing conference to encourage colleagues to take some time out of their busy days to support their own health and wellbeing.

We held a series of sessions throughout the day that staff were able to dip in and out of at a time that suited them. Sessions included developing resilience with a drama therapist and some arts therapy entitled ‘Calming Creativity’ which involved creative drawing. Colleagues also had the opportunity to have a coffee and catch up with our Chief People Officer Jo Humphries and a session with our spiritual care team who talked about what they can offer to staff and service users.

There was also an active element to the day and staff took part in a live Pilates class delivered by ARVRA, the provider of the Trust’s new wellness app. ARVRA also delivered a session on breathwork which helps to regulate your nervous system, release stress and tension and leave you feeling balanced.

The day had many more highlights including a nutrition for balance session with a Trust dietitian, a presentation from Talking Therapies and a talk from Tim Keogh from A Kind Life Ltd, on Leading with Trust Values for Team Wellbeing.

Feedback from staff who attended was overwhelmingly positive and we hope that colleagues took something away from the day which can help them going forwards.
