Celebrating positive staff survey results

12 Mar 24

The results of the 2023 National Staff Survey have been published and they show once again that HPFT is one of the best mental health and learning disability organisations in the country to work for.

This year HPFT received its highest response rate ever which means the Trust has a good feel for what is going on and any areas that need to be addressed based on staff feedback.

Service users lie at the heart of everything HPFT does and the staff survey highlighted overwhelmingly how staff have reflected that the care of service users is their top priority (85%) and that their role makes a difference to service users (90%).

HPFT is committed to addressing inequalities, eliminating discrimination and creating a culture where everyone is included and feels they belong.  As part of that, we launched our coproduced Belonging and Inclusion Strategy last year. Positive results from the staff survey identified how 80% of staff felt that the organisation respects difference and 75% felt that colleagues show appreciation for each other. We recognise we still have more to do in this area and we will keep working in partnership with our staff and service users to ensure everyone has the same positive experience of our Trust.

HPFT also achieved the highest score nationally across all mental health & learning disability organisations for development opportunities. Three quarters of staff recommended HPFT as a place to work and more than three quarters (78%) felt they had the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge.
