Appointment of Chief Nursing Officer

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to announce that, following a robust recruitment process, Dr Emma Wadey has been appointed as HPFT’s Chief Nursing Officer.

Emma has a wealth of experience of mental health nursing, working in both providers and most recently at a national level in NHS England. She brings a strong academic and research focus, together with a track record of delivering significant change at a national level including the implementation of the Professional Nurse Advocate role.

Emma is an advocate for supporting people with mental illness, learning disability and autism, bringing a depth of experience developed through her career of delivering quality and safety improvements. Her work on suicide prevention and staff wellbeing has been nationally recognised.

Emma will be joining the Trust on 1 July 2024. Andy Brogan, Interim Chief Nursing Officer, will remain in post until that time.
