HPFT celebrates Mental Health Awareness Week

15 May 23

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and Hertfordshire Talking Therapies is hosting a free Health and Wellbeing event on Tuesday 16 May at the Healthy Hub Stevenage, Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre between 10:00 – 15:00.

Mental Health Awareness Week, now in its 23rd year, runs from 15-21 May. This year’s theme is ‘anxiety’.

The event is open to all and free to attend and there will be a wealth of information available including a marketplace of local services with signposting opportunities and interactive workshops on a variety of topics including managing anxiety, therapeutic gardening, benefits of a healthy lifestyle and much more!

Dr Yasmin Nassif, Hertfordshire Talking Therapies Senior Clinician said: “We’re proud to support Mental Health Awareness Week to help raise awareness of anxiety and share ways that we can support residents to access our service to help manage feelings of anxiety.”

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) provides access to talking therapy services through Hertfordshire Talking Therapies (formerly known as the Hertfordshire Wellbeing Service), offering free and confidential talking therapy and practical support for residents.

On Thursday 18 May there is also a free health and wellbeing day being held at Anglia Ruskin University on Thursday from 10.00 - 15.00 which will include stalls and workshops hosted by local charities and services including Chelmsford Foodbank, Citizen's Advice and Independent Age.

If anxiety and depression are stopping you being who you want to be or doing the things you want to do, talking therapies can help you take back control. For more information please visit www.hpft-iapt.nhs.uk
