How HPFT can support you into employment

16 Dec 24

At HPFT, we know that if you have a mental health condition that impacts your normal day-to-day activity, and the impact is long term, this can be considered as a disability.

This year’s theme of Disability History Month is “Disability Livelihood and Employment” – here is some information about the employment service we offer to those who are already being supported by HPFT.

HPFT’s Individual Placement Support (IPS) Service

If you are already being supported by HPFT, our IPS service is open for you – this service can support you into employment, regardless of the mental health challenges you may be facing.

The IPS service recently helped a man who was about to quit his job due to burnout.
After completing a Vocational Assessment with the team, it became apparent that his current role was having a detrimental impact on his mental health.

He was determined to find another job before quitting, and so he requested support with searching for another role.

Our team undertook lots of research about the roles he was the most enthusiastic about, and developed a strong relationship with a company who were very happy to support his application. After completing pre-employment checks, they scheduled an interview and the IPS team were very pleased to find out that he was successful.

He recently started his new position, and is very happy in his role – he feels that this is having a great impact on his mental health.
