HPFT awarded new contract to provide support for adults with learning disabilities

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT), a specialist mental health and learning disability Trust, has been awarded the contract to deliver adult community learning disability services in Norfolk.

The change sees HPFT become the sole provider of adult learning disability services in the county and will enable the team to provide seamless support across the adult learning disability community.

HPFT already has significant experience in this area as they currently deliver in-patient learning disability services and some community services in Norfolk, as well as learning disability services across Hertfordshire, Essex and Buckinghamshire.

Karen Taylor, Chief Executive, HPFT said:

“Supporting people to live their best possible lives is at the heart of what we do at HPFT. I am delighted that we are expanding our support for adults with learning disabilities in Norfolk, as well as their carers.  Over the next few months, I look forward to meeting with staff and service users to listen to your feedback and make sure we are providing care in the best way for you.”

Tricia D’Orsi, Executive Director of Nursing for NHS Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board (ICB), said: 

“Hertfordshire Partnership Trust bring an enormous amount of experience and specialist knowledge when it comes to working with adults with learning disabilities. We look forward to working with the Trust to support with the transition to provide ongoing quality care for people.”

HPFT will officially take over the service from 1 June 2025.
