Staff wellbeing a top priority at our Big Conversation event

19 Sep 24

When you receive care from a health professional, it is so important that you are treated with kindness and compassion. So health professionals can do this to the best of their ability, they need to be supported by their employers to ensure that their own wellbeing is prioritised.

As part of HPFT’s commitment to its staff, HPFT held The Big Conversation for colleagues from across the Trust to attend where they had the opportunity to share great practice and celebrate success.

Karen Taylor, Chief Executive, reflected how “it has never felt so busy”. She said: “there has never been a more important time for you to check in on your own wellbeing, so we can do the best for service users.”

With that in mind, colleagues were able to get involved in various wellbeing sessions offered by ARVRA, the provider of the Trust’s new wellness app, including mental health focussing on emotional fatigue and self-care, and hormone and menopause. There was also an activity on mindfulness and gentle movement. Staff also had the opportunity to sign up for a massage.

There was time to share good practice and ideas, looking at how they align with our Great Together strategy. Some teams also showcased their services including the Mental Health Support Team and Logandene dementia unit, highlighting how they are constantly striving to offer the best support to service users.

The day concluded with an opportunity for colleagues to ask questions of the Executive team.

Three more Big Conversations will take place across our other sites in Norfolk, Bucks and Essex
